In most towns death has no schedule…but for an average of 16 persons per year, dates are scheduled a head of time – dates where someone will be executed by lethal injection in the small town of Huntsville. Since 1924, Texas has executed over 900 inmates, roughly 11 people per year. For the capital punishment controversy, Huntsville, Texas is ground zero. This unique documentary interviews three death row inmates as their executions draw near, following them as they cope with imminent death. One inmate, who has a UK girlfriend, has his hopes for a reprieve quashed at the last minute and faces a 6pm deadline with death. Exploring both sides, we find out how those administering the sentence became involved in the process of execution, and how the residents of Huntsville feel about their town being synonymous with state-sanctioned death.
